Slim Aarons

One of my favourites. A well known documentary photographer of high society from the 40s until the 80s , Mr Aarons has enjoyed a resurgence in recent years, due, perhaps, to JCrew's magpie like obsession a while back with his timeless, portrait based take on the whole WASP lifestyle. His book A Wonderful Time mysteriously vanished from our old office at Arena, and I see they are now going for up to $600 on eBay. Unless you're flush, make do with the reissues his work in Once Upon a Time, Poolside and A Place in the Sun instead.
